A Different Kind of Delegation

On Sunday, 26 December 2004, the Indian Ocean tsunami, slammed into the countries surrounding the Indian Ocean, the hardest hit area was Aceh in Indonesia, where according to different sources between 170,000 to 220,000 people died, relief agencies reported that one-third of the dead appeared to be children.

Some Ten years on there is still much to be done to create a thriving and vibrant society, the Malaysia Global Business Forum will organise a delegation to explore social opportunities as well as the business opportunities that are currently available in Aceh, Indonesia.

Corporate and civil society both have a role to play, through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or personal involvement the Malaysia Global Business Forum is inviting participation in a “Different Kind of Delegation” to Aceh this year to coincide with the 10 anniversary of the South Asian tsunami, which is also known as the Indonesian tsunami, the Christmas tsunami and the Boxing Day tsunami.
